Founded in 1981, the Calaveras County Arts Council presents and promotes the arts of Calaveras County, enriching cultural life for residents and visitors alike. Their gallery, located on the Historic Main Street of San Andreas, showcases work by local artists. Their staff includes an executive director and a part-time assistant and marketing/social media specialist under the direction of a board of directors representing communities throughout Calaveras County.
In addition to their beautiful gallery store and public education programs, the Calaveras Arts Council annually sponsors and organizes numerous great events throughout the year. Two of their most beloved events include the annual Music in the Park series during the summer and the Calaveras Artist Studio Tour each fall.
